As integrated teams, we can work in more traditional psychology settings as well as in medical centers, neighborhood clinics, and community-based agencies. I typically work in multidisciplinary research and clinical teams that include people with lived experience of substance use to develop and evaluate interventions that aim to reduce substance-related harm and improve quality of life for people who use substances and their communities. I have been involved in substance use research, assessment and treatment for over 2 decades and have disseminated work on these topics in over 60 book chapters, abstracts and peer-reviewed articles. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with WSU students and colleagues as well as Spokane-based clinicians and meet new communities, collaborate on research, and further develop treatment and programming options for people who use substances. With my recent move to WSU, I seek to expand our work in the HaRRT Center our to Eastern Washington to support people who use substances, their communities, and the agencies that serve them.
